It's still arguably the best commercially brewed beer in a Australia, but it used to be at an oversized micro brewery standards. A mate explained to me what happed, but it's related to the size and shape of the vessels, the newer vessels don't provide the same intensity of flavour and complexity the older ones. The change occurred about 10-15 years ago from memory.
