Uric Acid I believe.

I am pretty sure that vinegar is also acidic (i.e. ph less than 7).
I imagine that the range of products that you are advised to protect you rope from would affect your rope in different ways. For example some might directly affect the strength of it through a chemical reaction, others might, as a previous poster suggested, attract and shorten the life of your rope. |
