Second gfdonc's Victorian suggestion of Croajingolong NP. I think from memory we took 5 days (Bemm River to Mallacoota). Whales (although Nov/Dec is too late for that I guess), seals, and dingoes, awesome campsites, as well as mussels, oysters (bring something to shuck them with), and abalone for dinner in some spots. If you do set off on it, make sure you find out the status of the inlets and find out what the tide times will be. Sometimes they are open to the sea and are tough to cross or may even require a lift from a local fisherman. However, it isn't a circuit. There was a few of us so we shuttled cars, but if you only have one car you may have to hitch back. I'm not sure if there's any other transport options. There's also a permit system and I'm not sure how many people are allowed in at one time. We never saw any other hikers until we were almost at Mallacoota. |
