I got badly dried up one time on '" The Beerwah Bolt Route"(ever done it?) Glasshouse Mts. (300ft of bolt aid, overhung) By a stupid lack of communication we left most of the water in the car, by the time we had walked up to the start we had but a coupla litres left. Queensland summer, west facing, never aided before, no problem, up we go. Home made ets from knotted tape, 10mm bolt plates on 8mm bolts (they come off) no freakin idea. On the rock at midday, by sunset (yes still climbing) I would have gladly drunk piss if I had any. We were so dry we couldn't talk, except to call "safe", and even that came out like "thaithe" We had stack of food but couldn't eat it, no saliva. Finnished the climb and had no idea how to get down, took 3 hrs fumbling in the blackness, got back down at 1am, very close to insanity from thirst. Happens easily in Qld.
