FYI - BMC confirmed via email that they only provide insurance to UK residents. There seems to be quite a few UK insurers who do cover climbing, but almost no insurers that will cover Aussie residents (either Austn companies or otherwise)....as an aside, does this say something about insurer perceptions of Aussie climbers?

Insure4less seems to be almost the only company that will cover aussie residents for climbing. "World nomads", an Aussie insurance company that is (according to them!) geared towards "adventurous independent travellers" doesn't cover climbing or even abseiling. Some of the international co's actually directed me to Worldnomads as the Oz equivalent for climbing cover. Pointless exercise....

Anyway, insure4less look good, underwritten by Lloyd's and at least if you have any trouble, you can go through an Aussie ombudsman rather than pursuing proceedings overseas.
