Considering the price of petrol also, I wouldn't drive down.
I reckon it depends on where you're hoping to climb. If heading to really out of the way places, may like to have the car (but REALLY out of the way would mean multi-day hike-in and the car is a bit pointless for that once you get to starting point).
But for most of Tas, public transport and hitching might cover it.
Plus, maybe put a note out to Tassie climbers keen to accompany you for a climb and they may give you a lift? |
