It really does depend what climbing you are doing. Very few climbs in australia absolutely require doubles in a single pitch (unless you're aiding or doing lots of crack climbing). The better climbers carry less gear. If you arbitrarily do it (try to select what to double) you'll probably end up not using them or trying to find climbs for them... and not really using them. Then you can sell them here to some lucky climber.
Having said that I have doubles of fingers to hands sizes because I enjoy that type of crack climbing and I have the opportunity to use them alot. |
