50 meter rap off NZ's 3000m Mt Dixon - East Ridge (nice NZ rotten rock!) rapping off 7mm fixed line and 8.6mm ropes tied together. After more than 24 hrs continuous climbing and 2 hrs sleeping on a rock ledge, this was our first rappel.
Every light touch, of the loose weetbix like rock, started a mini rockfall below with loose razor sharp slate like pieces the size of dinner plates falling all over the place. I was just paranoid and convinced that the 7mm line would be cut by the falling rock. Then, the 7mm line obviously being so thin, got caught! so as my climbing partner had set the lines (and felt energetic) he soloed/prussiked up the ropes to reset the lines and he carefully rappelled back down ok and we were able to get off the ridge.
