I take it you are flying Thai to Kathmandu, i emailed them and politely told them i was on an private expedition - non profit (which we were anyway) and if they could assist with a waver on some extra allowance. They gave me another 10kgs free (i still took over 40kgs and they let me off. You can buy Everest One Sports from some of the shops in Thamel (They are not fakes either) and they buy them back afterwards. They also sell the La Sportiva Olympus mons, but they were the same price as in UK
