The reason I asked, and it was never my intention to "hijack" anyone's post but this seemed as good a section as any, is that I am currently doing some research on a potential high profile mountaineering challange that can be undertaken by Australians to raise money for something like under-priviledged children.
Due to the vanity and ficklenss of the media (and the public), the only way that this can happen is if it's a first of some sort.
A traverse of Everest from North to South could be such a feat that could raise funds for a good cause and ensure that the pain and suffering of those attempting such a feat were for something good other than their own self gratificatioon.
If you have some ideas, want to help scope this out, participate, or become involved in some way, then send me a PM.
