My first lead was Banglas Sports Route (aka Rising Fast) a 15 at the Castle at Buffalo. My climbing partner suggested I should lead it as it was well protected. Seemed like a good idea. Like a good soldier I followed instructions, clipped a bolt, placed a cam behind a flake, moved up, next instruction was to place a sling over a bomber little flake. I placed the sling, complaining that there was no way that it would hold a fall. I moved a bit higher, the sling fell off leaving me facing a 7 or 8 metre ground fall, my belayer started to get nervous, I started to shake. I executed a remarkable dodgy foot swap, and managed to hold it together, just. Onwards to the top and glory. Hurrah!

Apparently the bit that used to take the sling got broken off. I think its been replaced with a bolt now. Good times!
