Not true as a generalization.
I smoked a packet a day for many years. When I eventually gave up, it took me 2 years to get rid of the craving. Then I had a single smoke as a luxury. I threw up twice, and was back on a packet a day by the following morning. It took me *another* two years to give up finally. This was many years ago. But I know, without the slightest doubt, that if I had one today, I'd be back on a packet a day before tomorrow.
But - I know other people who smoked loads for years, then gave up easily, and still have one occasionally, without falling back into the habit. Horses for courses!

Absolutely. Slagging off smokers makes the slagger feel good, but doesn't really help the slagee. Positive energy and support is the go.
