And don't forget the rope!

I rapped down second and my partner was already on the hanging belay. We were doing the original as this was pre-deep play. We had double ropes because the original pitch wanders (up and down and side to side) a bit. I got there, only to realise that I'd left the second of the double rope up the top! So out came the tibloc and a couple of slings and there I was jugging 55m back up to the ledge dodging the rocks that the rope was knocking off. Pretty silly stuff really.

Also, it was a real hassle laying out the two ropes once we got to the bottom and I had to change places with the guy who went down first as he was leading. Far better to send the belayer down first with the climbing rope ready to go in a bag and the leader can just come down, tie in and get on with it.
