just got back from a week in tassie. climbed the variant 24 first pitch. its excellent. first 5 metres were a bit wet.it was a bit desperate trying to pendulum over to the carrot belay bolts from the abseil. almost got them and slammed pretty hard back into the mainland side wall. ended up running across the kelpy ledge to belay on the single wave swept ledge and then pulled partner over to belay bolts. got a bit of a washing in the process.classic route. must do. |
