A few of us just heard from James and Bec that there is a big old resort being built on Ton Sai:

"On a sad note, you may have heard that most of Ton Sai is going to be
developed into a big resort, with construction scheduled to start at the end
of March. For those of you who know the area, everything inside the big ring
road will be demolished to make the resort. The places up the hill will
remain. Thankfully, we're staying up the hill so we won't have to move. It's
a real shame as there are lots of really cool bars and restaurants to hang
out at down at the beach. I'm sure the prices will all increase and it'll
become more like Rai Lai which is basically full of fat rude tourists."

That's such a rotten shame about Ton Sai. Man, if we could find out who to petition to and declare a boycott of the place (whether that's true or not)... I wonder if there are enough skanky climbers in the world to do that.
