Had a pretty full on sport climbing epic a few years back. It all started innocently, just another after work session at the crag. On the short dirve to the cliff we passed through some pretty heavy fog and a few drops of rain, luckily though, it had started to clear by the time we got to the crag. We then proceeded to send a few warmups and just before leaving we decided to try just one more route. My mate got up there ok with a few hangs and despite the gathering darkness I managed to do the same. By the time I lowered off it was getting very dark, my mate almost couldn't find his keys, very scary indeed. When the aforementioned keys were located we started the short walk back to the car. When we got to the car though, the trouble started. Due to the earlier fog my mate had put his lights on but as it had cleared up a little when we got to the crag he forgot they were on. The battery was totally dead even after only 2.5 hours. We tried to push start it a few times but it was to flat and rough to get any speed. In the end we had to call a mate and get them to come out with some jumper leads. After what seemed like an eternity (about 15 miins) they finally arrrived and shortly after my mates car was up and running. So after being stuck out in the cold and slight rain for about half an hour we were finally on our way home. I walked in the door at about 9:30, packed myself a cone and had some Pizza. Just another hard day of sport climbing.
