Marty,
My original plan was 55-60 degrees from vertical which is 30 - 35 deg from horizontal, I will still go with that I think. By convex do you mean a bulge type wall with more overhang to start with and then less overhang as you go up? Also, Just curious, do you have your own woody at home? If so, could you post some pics of it for ideas?
Anthonyk,
Cost depends on what you have to start with. I will be constructing a free standing elongated cube which will be about 3.5m+ long, 2.2m High (constrained by roof of carport) and 2.4m+ wide. This will have a fair bit more timber in the framing because of the external supports. I can't attatch it to the existing carport because it looks a bit dodgy to me, the framing would be too heavy and I don't really want to pull the roof down on myself. I estimate that the timber and ply plus bolts/screws etc, will be about $400. That isn't including t-nuts and holds, which will start off most likely as chunks of wood. If you have a structurally strong enough wall to start with I guess you could do it a bit cheaper because you wouldn't need so much framing timber.
