I don't think it needs to be one-or-the-other kinda option.
Not wanting to be overly harsh, but take for example the Cossey's Corner articles in Rock mag. They really needed some editing. The articles were all over the place, with spelling, gramatical and syntax errors. The humour of the articles just couldn't be conveyed because I just didn't understand what was being written.
I think for any published article. Some editing and checking facts is important, otherwise you lose the ability to express yourself and the credibility of the author and mag are compromised.
As for the current crux mag (and previous) I think the mags are an awesome effort. The graphics, layout are really fresh and I've enjoyed reading the entertaining stories. The photos are inspiring! I'd like to see some more serious articles, possibly a tech tips (like rock and ice or whatever those overseas mags are called).
I'd love to read an article about Garth Miller or some such climber (or would that just be frowned upon for idolising?).
Anyway, can't wait to read Bomber Pro's article!
