yeah - think you're right. Dividing the core and sheath is one thing. anything more than that and i think you'd end up with an unusable pile of rope strands in one almighty tangle.

in response to latest puzzle
a) can you just drop off into the water?
b) can you tie off one end and haul on the other with (theoretical) 2:1 advantage.
3) expire a lungfull of air at max velocity repeatedly, in time with your penduluming
4) wait for your partner to drag you back up.
5) tear up your shirt and make a prussik
6) climb up hand over hand.

lots of very workable solutions to that one. :-)

I see that the hot temps are keeping everyone awake over there. (I'm in holland where its freezing, wet, windy and there's nothing to climb!)
