I've noticed that many climbers have a frantic enthusiasm about their climbing. Infact their enthusiasm could sometimes be described as 'over-the-top'. Other climbers seem to admire and be drawn to those who possess this frantic energy, describing them as 'psyched' or 'super psyched' climbers. In the climbing gyms or bouldering caves, forests of the grampians you'll hear whispers of 'He/she is so psyched to go climb. It's awesome!' Then there will be a thundering roar as they attempt their project.

IN between their projects and their outtings to the gramps they'll be saying 'I'm so psyched give me some rock/plastic I'll crush anything! I'm so psyched can't you tell that climbing is my life climbing is me that's who I am I am a climber, hm hm hmmmm i better say it louder so no one thinks that i'm just some hobby climber I'm so psyched!!'

The word 'psyched', isn't it short for psychopath?

As my moniker says, I prefer knitting, but I am quietly curious about climbing. I am slowly discovering what climbing is about for ME and trying to avoid losing myself to climbing.

I don't want to be one of those people who when asked 'what have you been up to?' respond with 'nothing, I haven't been out climbing lately'. That can't be the total existance of your life!?! Can it?
