Ok, thanks everybody, Got enough data now. Sample size was 101.
Preliminary results are:
90% of climbers own a helmet
But only 32% of climbers wear their helmet all the time.
The most popular reason for not wearing a helmet was that it was "not required all the time".
By far the most popular reason for wearing a helmet was concern of rockfall
Climbers have a lot of issues with helmet design. The top 4 things wrong with helmets are:
1) Too hot (41.7% of climbers)
2) Dorky/Ugly looking (37.5%) - we are so vain.
3) Awkward to climb with (36.1%)
4) Uncomfortable (34.7%)
I'll try to get them on the ACA website over the weekend so you can check it out in detail.
