My sentiments exactly. Australia following along after those countries with power...they have nothing to gain and everything to lose. Tibet doesn't have oil or anything else to offer in the way of monetary gain. They have only a culture and a land, that if many people would take the time to observe, would be humbled by. The inhospitable beauty of the landscape and the people who have managed to live in this harshness....I don't think our society can even imagine what it would be like to deal with the daily battles they do just to survive. And that's worth nothing in our world. Australia has its dirty fingers in China's economic pie along with everyone else.

These recent violations by the Chinese military are just that...recent! These have been going on since the 1950's forcing the Dalai Lama into exile as well as many of its people. And will continue to do so. There is a wealth of information out there regarding the history of Tibet and the Chinese occupation. Watch the movie ' Tibet: Cry of the Snow Lion'. An intense, beautiful and painful documentary spanning 10 years. Unfortunately most of the general public don't know and most likely will never know the extent and horrors which go on in this hidden land. Perfect for the perpetrators really.
