Neil,
Try the BMC - http://www.bmcinsurance.co.uk/. They offer awesome insurance that even included El Cap, K2 etc. Obviously there is a price difference depending on where and what you're planning to do, but they had policies that were specific to climbing (ie planning to do only single pitch routes vs long day routes vs multi-day epics). Excellent service, very easy online etc. No probs.
As for other travel insurance - a lot of credit cards have it built in as long as you pay the full whack on the card - thank you Mr Visa. If anything happens on one of those policies just make sure to say that you were "out for a stroll".
