I read once upon a time that when Malcolm "HB" Mathesson started climbing at Arapiles he thought you had to climb every climb at a certain grade before you progressed to the next grade. It may go some way to explaining why HB is one of Australia's best all round climbers.

I'd also offer similar advice; try and climb as many 13s and 14s at Araps as possible and then you should be more skilled and confident to climb "harder" grades.

Don't just look for convenient climbs that are suited to your style. Part of the reason some climbs get a reputation as sandbags (e.g. Meglomaniac, see jambing thread) I think is because some climbers don't develop all round skills.

I suggest a Araps hit list as follows;
10 Argammenon (If you haven't already done it. The grade is in my opinion irrelevant)
11 Blockbuster
12 Watchtower Chimney (considered a sandbag by some, but full value)
12/13 Kestrel (do it in one pitch)
13 Muldoon
14Lamplighter
14/15 Kaiser/Resignation

When you've climbed those you may be too contented to do anything harder!
