Sorry guys..............seem to have gone off half c--ked before. Any... got to thinking about smoking, climbing, and the Eigerwand. After consulting my copy of 'The White Spider' I found this Is captioned "Kasparek enjoying rest and a cigarette at the Swallows Nest" Fritz Kasparek you will remember was with Harrer et al on the first ascent 21-24 July 1938. I guess had he been smoking lites instead of Gaullioses the would have topped out on the 22nd. Seems this is the missing link tying smoking to rockfall. I hope he feels proud of what he's done.
