>Although I've never seen a woody with a guide that has routes, grades(climbing >grades????) and route setters??!!!!!!! Most woodies are climbed predominantly by the routesetter and their friends, so why would you need a guide? The grades are on traverses and French sport grades don't mean a lot to many people. It seems natural to use our grading system to me. Some people appreciate the time put in by the routesetters and would like to know who they are. Those not concerned at knowing any of this information will no doubt ignore the guide. I'm not quite sure why you find it all so amusing and strange as it seems perfectly reasonable to me. Perhaps the idea of some sort of cooperation is the foreign concept here? Jamie
