I have found that textured paint just wears you hands and shoes, leave that for the real rock, and normal paint can be a pain, it will either cause you holds to spin on the slick surface or after you tighten down the holds a few times the paint will act like glue! Some of my holds I had to hamer off my old painted woodie as my bodyweight could not dislodge them!! this will all so leave ugly scars on your wall.
