Hi Mike, I agree with the comment that a person shouldn't really be using a grigri with such a thin rope. So that in its own right might not be a good reason to ban them. However your point that it is difficult to staff to determine from a distance if a grigri is threaded correctly, is a very strong one. One suggestion I have to contribute is that during the transition period (while everyone is discovering the new rule's existence) is that it might be an idea to have a few stitchplates/ATCs on hand to hire or loan out. Otherwise you'll have to deal with angry punters who have turned up for a lead, but only have a grigri with them. jac
