After using 9.4 ropes for a few years we bought a 9., the idea being that if we liked it, we could get another and use them as (heavy) half ropes as well. Unfortunately, we found the 9.1 quite diffcult to handle on its own, and really not a good option as a single rope. We ended up buying 2x DMM Bugs to belay it, but it is a bit of a pain in the arse with a 9.4 (which 'just' fits the bug). We've recently bought the ATC XP but haven't tried catching anyone on the 9.1 yet. Anyone else have a similar experience?
