This post on everestnews about Lincoln Hall's rescue shows what can be done at very high altitudes in order to rescue an unco-operative and seriously ill climber.

In 1999 on Daulagiri I myself suffered from cerebral odema, to the point of going blind and then falling unconscious. If my fellow climbers hadn't helped me then I'd be as dead as David Sharp. (Cheers to Constantine the Romanian hardman and jailbait Jim)
Any defence by those who passed Sharp and saw him alive on their way to the summit is a crock. |
