I agree - the bloke with no legs who is probably the least capable of assisting seems to cop the flack. Not that it excuses him.
People seem to go a bit nutty when they have committed so much to their goal. I guess if some guy wonders up there in dunlop volleys and a tank top its understandable for everyone else not to want to forget their goals and escort the guy safely down. But I think thats what they should do. No one ever deserves to die. Not judging the guy who died. Many competant mountaineers have died up there.
