So because it hasn't happened to Damo, then it can't happen?

I have watched it happen to three different makes (ie three different manufacturers, three different distributors) of biner. And in fact in some cases, it can happen to biners that remain on a route for a week or two (while someone is working a route). Just the friction caused by biners swinging in the breeze (ie without a human body weight plummeting onto the bolt) seems to be sufficient to hack into biners…
