We've had several cases of NZAC Aust Section members (as well as others) taking up travel/climbing insurance with IHI for places like the Himalayas (including Everest!), Antarctica and South America - so far, I've heard they're really good when dealing with your questions and concerns....have not heard any bad stories relating to claims (if ever made), but I guess we would've heard those by now if that was the case.
