im not so worried about abseiling but christ (non climbing) abseilers give me the creeps!! Ive seen them on hardware nylon! They were telling eachother not to stop at the end and quickly pull rope threough the 8 so the rope didn't melt instantly.!! They tend to have less reguard for safety and the environment than us climbers. I mostly use an auto blocker knot and a knot at the end of the rope. Abseiling I find a mundane and rope damaging experience.
