NO FLASH INTRO'S PUHLEEZE !!!
People just are not prepared to wait. If you must retain it, add a text link saying "skip flash intro". Add some counters to track the # of people who watch the intro, & the # who skip it. See the light accordingly!
Also, you may not realize that all active content (such as flash) has just been broken by Microsoft's latest automatic update to windows XP. On the latest XP SP2, your flash intro is a big white box, with zero content! And it stays that way, for as long as you want to stare at the screen, waiting for something to happen.

There's meant to be a message saying "click to activate this control", but on my PC, that message is not visible unless the cursor is over the box. So if the user does not put the cursor over the box, he'll never see the message - or the active content!
Even when you click the box, the active content still stays blank on my PC. As a result, I literally did not get beyon the intro page of your site. Many other folks on the latest version of XP SP2, might have the same experience.
I'm not trying to be nasty - just pointing out some of the pitfalls using active content, particularly if yo do not provide a means for the user to skip that content. |
