Not to mention the social impact of our horrific road toll which is at least in part due treating cars as toys
rather than a useful yet dangerous tool.

In contrast to the climbing related issue of helmets aggressive driving and aggressive vehicles have the
potential to impact on the lives of all road users not just the driver or helmet wearer.

Another climbing related point is that as many climbers do a lot of kms to get to climbing destinations, an
efficient vehicle becomes even more important due to both the environmental and fiscal costs of burning
fossil fuels.

On a clear day like today looking back at melbourne from the You Yangs melbourne is often clouded in a
haze of smog. its sights like that that reinforce my attitude to our wasteful and selfish attitudes towards
transport.

Although I own a car and do drive, I am quite opposed to wasteful, overpowered and oversized vehicles. I
prefer my bike.

I can understand the appeal of our car culture but I dont aggree with it.
