yes but I do know some women who have managed to work part-time in large law firms. They tend to stay in the lower ranks though and don't make it to partnerhood unless they are childless (in most cases). My previous post does not mean to ignore the problems for women continuing to do what they want to do. ie work or sport. There is an ongoing battle in the minds of many and I have regular conversations about this with friends. We want the stimulation of working and doing exciting things but we're just not so willing to give up the family life and looking after our number ones that it seems to require. How do we strike the balance?...that's the elusive dream that no one seems to have the answer to.

Also there are people who do continue to work in those slave factories but the slavery becomes less and the pay becomes more as one moves higher up the ranks. But then women miss out as soon as they become experienced enough to move there because alas! they get pregnant and then it's all over red rover!
