to the person with sore PIPs (sorry i dont know your name)
could be any number of things. most likely chronic overloading of the joint from crimping. i would need to see how you crimp, the exact location of the pain etc to really be able to give you an accurate diagnosis and how to avoid further aggravation. try not crimping AT ALL. it is really difficult to do but it will allow you to climb in all likelyhood. glucosamine will help hydrate the joint which should help the condition. there are however lots of factors which cause a joint to become inflamed, eg when the the PIP joints become stiff and lose their accessory movements (not flexion and extension) the joints have a greater propensity to become aggravated. if they are still sore in a week let me know. how long have you had the symptoms? how old are you? any family history of inflammatory joint conditions?
