Some people don't like fighting on a 17, it briuses the ego... but whatever floats your boat, I guess. I agree that many many of the ** & * climbs are underrated. The *** classics tend to be so for a reason though. Technical is good, in fact what I like, but thuggery has its place too and is just as much part of climbing. I'm just not overly good at it. People tend to like what they are good at and hate what they are bad at. DO what you are bad at and eventually you will begin to like it and be good at it. I used to HATE slopers, now I can't get enough! "(if you don't like technical then you don't like climbing)" could just as easily read 'if you don't like thuggery then you don't like climbing' ... This argument extends to sport v trad too... read the intro to the Nowra guide by Rod Young. Very perceptive for a sport climber....hehe before you shoot me for that, think, am I taking the piss or being serious? Maybe you should re-read the aforementioned intro...
