Easy ground? What is easy ground, surely if oneis x distance above your last placement the grade is irrelevant... after all a fall is a mistake and mistakes can happen at any time. Note 'x'... 2m is very run out if you land on a ledge... the sky (and your headspace) is the limit if the fall is clean. Trad brings a whole new gammut of issues of course. Does anyone really care what other people think is runout when they are actually ON a climb? (Unless you are abusing the bolter under your breath...assuming sport is what you are on). If you are abusing the bolter, maybe route reading should take higher priority in your climbing, like looking for the clips before you leave the ground and accepting or rejecting the risk then.
