We knew it was going to rain. Saturday morning we drove through the rain to the Gramps and were climbing Sentinel Cave by 1. After getting completely blown out we drove into the Sham for Chicken and Bourbon.
On Sunday we climbed Overkill and Sowetto at Summerday Valley with just a little sprinkle here and there. We then walked up to Van Deiman’s Land and Bad Moon Rising Wall. Once our endurance was shot, we scrambled back down to Anderson boulders and bouldered until we couldn’t make a fist. We discovered why it isn’t good to climb on wet sandstone as holds crumbled under out fingers and shoes. Not to worry, didn’t break any key holds but I thought I was going to tear the flake right off the side of the camping cave.
You can always climbs somewhere in the Gramps when its raining!
