I cant see a toprope being much less than a bolted route. From photo's I have seen, FFA's have quick draws in place at the time of the climb. The challenge to some climbers is grade, but to others its the finding of a climb that nobody has done.

You still have to climb the bloody thing, you just dont fall as far. I understood if you took a fall, down you come and start again.

I personally dont carry a drill and bolts, and I would stuff it up anyhow if I did as I have no experience at it, I think the stubborn tact against FTRA will lead to bolts all over our walls that are both dangerous and ugly.

If it ok to bolt, why not set up a number of rope or webbing anchors for the climber so that only the experienced climbers bolt, it not we may loose our access to our sport.
