Was up that way last week but didn't quite make it to Blue Lake - 1 km short. There's not a hell of a lot of ice around at the moment and what is around is fairly thin. Its patchy even on the ridges. The approach was tough with soft snow most the way and shin deep with snow shoes. Firmer higher up. There has been a lot of snow last week but temperatures have remained in the positives. Thats about all I can tel you. |
