Hey hex! First of all, I saw after the fact that you liked my off the cuff poetry about wombats. Don't they turn you on? *sterotypical crickets in amphitheatre heard** Ok, it's just me. "I'm so ronery!" <---- gotta love Team America. Anyway! To what I'm writing about. I thought I could possibly put it in the "quotes" section, but I thought it suited here more. This was a conversation had this evening between me, my sister and her best friend:

Following a conversation about whether they thought it was appropriate for me to shave instead of wax while in Cairns these holidays:

Me: I can't wax! I've got a huge scratch that takes up most of my leg! Why wax around it when it takes up the whole leg? Shaving's not so bad anyway. And anyway it's only cairns, I'd rather shave in cairns than Arapiles (which I don't do by the way, I was just making a point)

Best friend (cutting in): We're talking about Cairns Tavare, don't give me some crap about Peru or something!

Me: I'm not!

Best friend: Well where is Arapiles anyway?

Me: (splutters and chokes) what do you mean where is it?!

Best Friend: Well which country? Which continent?

Me: Ah....Victoria, near Horsham!

Best Friend: Then use normal names!

Me: Normal!! Claiming you don't know where arapiles is I classify as blasphemy! It's like when you got insulted because Dana (my sister) said "The Tigers have a new player don't they Rachel. Nick Malthouse.."!

My sister to best friend: 'Arapiles' sounds Italian to me....

This is what I must live with. Then again, I shouldn't be too surprised when they idolise Cath and Kim to an unnatural degree and were completely convinced the UK wasn't in Europe.
