mike, just had a squiz at your footage of Mt Rosea and the 1st pitch of Fringe Dweller on what looked to be a very sunny day, and it was great. What a climb.
In regards to your coments about the track, I can remember the last time i went up to Rosea (about a year ago!) there was a similar "blockade" of trees as well as an orrange fence with a sign saying track closed.
Of course it was easy to get around, I could not understand why theu has attempted to "close" the track.
I think the feeling aound that time (and perhaps still now) was theat the "staircase" that leads down from the top of rosea is quite dangerous for people to walk down, perhpas on a public liability front at least. Hence the sign to deter tourists, but not really those who want to climb?
Have a great time this weekend on Heritic, you will love it!! Are you going to take you camera?
It would be great to see some footage. If you have time that day I hope you'll give some of the other routhes there a go...diane, rip corner...or even Martin Eden. |
