Yes M8 and Romfrantic. I agree with you totally that the reasons for this tragedy are unfathomable within our own cultural context...but in other cultural contexts the concepts of "honour" and "shame" are totally different to ours...and very real. I lived and worked and travelled in many parts of the world for many years and never came to even vaguely understand the definitive and ultimate nature of "honour" in many non-Western cultures. In it's own way, this is not all that different to Palestinian kids blowing themselves to pieces on buses or Korean kids committing suicide because they fail their exams. Failure is not an option. I shake my head in sadness
