Ego & bragging rights would have a lot to do with it. The thinking would seem to be along the lines of:
Everest, because it's the tallest, and if not everest then something at least 8000m for the ego & bragging.

I would admit that I would be F&%$*n' stoked to successfully summit & return from a peak like
Jannu(7710m) esp since it is apparently WAY technical. Dhaulagiri,Ama Dablam and Annapurna would be
pretty horn also. Double bonus points for K2. Nails hard, rep for nasty weather AND itza 8611m summit.
My head wouldn't fit through my front door if I ticked K2 :) - with all fingers & toes still intact ;) The
thought of climbing these massive and beautiful mountains both excites and scares the shit out of me

BTW, glacier-rat, which commercial organisation are you connected with?
