Ever eaten at uni? Ever bought a coffee? Ever had a beer in the uni bar? Most students I know do all of the above on a semi-regular basis. Take away the union subsidies on food and prices will rise, I guarantee it. Total up the little extras for food/beverages over the course of a year, and you may not find much change from the $225-odd that you pay in union fees. Then, of course, you'll have no o-week, reduced clubs... Everything this thread has already mentioned.
