Are you talking about bouldering here or routes?
It is true that there is a lot of attention on the cave, but then the ultimate first ascent is still waiting to be climbed there, the full cave link up. Kassay has linked it in two sections. I think there are still people putting up new problems around the place, and there is still a lot of potential. Victoria is lacking visionaries which sucks, how many victorian climbers actively climb 31+? Not that many. How many NSW climbers actively climb 31+? I would say quite a few more. I think this has a lot to do with the psyched to climb hard scene in NSW and the amount of easily accessible routes to train on.
Victoria does not have the volume of sport routes to throw laps on, and the 'hard' climbing areas like Taipan, Spurt, Gallery, Muline, and Araps are quite a way from melbourne (Not saying that all hard climbers are from melbourne). I think it is interesting that on many weekends in the year there will be only one or two climbing parties at Taipan, and yet this is the premier wall in the country. The busiest time there is easter, when the interstate crew crowds it. Why aren't more Victorians visiting Taipan? It is awesome!
Everyone should get psyched to do at least a route on Taipan. I'm sure people will say yeah yeah it's too hard though, there's nothing below 25. Well shouldn't this be your inspiration to climb 25? Brilliant climbing on the best wall in the country, is that not enough motivation?
