I don't believe that copyright is the reason why Rock won't publish route descriptions already published (ARGUS or Chockstone). It is clearly only "new routes" that are being published in Rock - not published elsewhere. When we developed Curiosity Crag, near Slander Gully in the Victoria Range, we sent the full mini guide, including photos, to Rock to be published hopefully. We wanted the guide published. We also posted it on Chockstone and sent it into ARGUS. It was not published in the next Rock, even though it was a new crag with over 20 routes. The only reason we came up with was that Rock wanted to be the first to publish it, or not at all. Very petty and narrow thinking, and will probably contribute to the downfall of Rock. I'm not going to bother sending routes into Rock in the future.
